Where is your favorite place? Is it a room in your house, a restaurant, or is it another city altogether? Mine is the northwest coastline. Which really sucks because I live in a land locked state.

i would have to say that one of the most relaxing and cool places that I would say is my favorite was in Denver, CO., on top of Pike's Peak. I went on a day when the 'base' temp was about 110 degree's. I took the tram up the side of the mountain, which is a several hour deal. We stopped at several points and checked out the local flora and fauna. Once we reached the top of the mountain, there was this quietness that was amazing. I could look around, and see, literally, for hundreds of miles. It was one of the most fantastic things I've ever seen.

I've been to Pike's Peak! But I was not lucky enough to take the tram up...I had to grip the Oh Sh!t bar and hope that our brakes did not over heat. LOL But the time we got to the top...I was such a nervous wreck, I could not enjoy the view all that much because I was dreading the drive back down! LOL I didn't want to leave the top!!! But I can say I did it! :) But I am never doing it again. Not only did the drive scare the crap out of me...but the air pressure caused one horrible migraine!!!

I've never been on pike's peak. I think i would like to go, but my wife probably wouldn't. She has this issue with extreme heights, it wouldn't be the going up, and she'd love the quiet and the serene, we'd probably get another thousand pictures out of her, it would be the trip on the way down. yeah....especially if i'm driving. i like curves, and SPEED. LOL

I haven't been to too many places, but my favorite place is Downtown Seattle. I'm seriously considering going there tomorrow and just walking around and hanging out. Not sure I'll actually do it, though. We'll see, I guess.

I just moved up here at the end of December. I've been to Downtown Seattle before for a visit, but it was always the same area. I'd like to see more of Downtown, ya know? Well, it's been raining too much and too hard today, so maybe tomorrow. Who knows? If I'm not doing anything Monday, I may go then.

It's always good to get out and around. Washington is an area i love, although i'm not big on the big cities. I prefer smaller areas. We moved to this state almost three years ago, and the closest large city is about 20 minutes away, and we're still learning the area there. We find something new there all the time.

Oh, i envy you. I love washington and oregon. That's my favorite area, ever. Maybe not so much the city, as just the area itself. But you should try it, if you don't like the people watching, or the walk, at least you can say you tried it. And you never know what might happen while you're out walking, something good might come along.

Judging from your picture you have children, so how is it that your bathroom is peaceful? The bathroom in my house seems to be the one place my son likes to harass me the most! :)

My favorite place...ok, I am torn here. I have to list two places because I have moved just over a year ago and I had to find a new favorite place. My first favorite place is West Palm Beach Florida. I am born and raised in Florida...so the sand, surf, and beach is what I grew up around. I love sitting on the beach and watching the waves roll in. I love how the salt sea air rushes up off the waves and hits you in the face just enough that you can taste the salt on your lips. I love walking the shoreline with the water rushing over your toes while your feet sink in the wet sand making a perfect foot print while searching for sea shells. :) And West palm Beach...it is one of the few beaches that is not over populated with tourism. The water is crystal clear blue and there is an area that there are these huge rocks that seem to catch the perfect sea shells during high tide. BUT...now that I have moved to a state that is land locked...my favorite place is my room. It has become my sanctuary. LOL I have seven children and as they are getting older they are butting heads more and the volume control is becoming hard to handle. So, my room is my escape. I have cable in my room. A master bath to I do not have to go into the hallway. A sitting area for when my partner wants to go to bed and I can stay up on myLot....it is my peace and quiet in the house. That is....until the kids come in. LOL

It is not knowing what is under the surface that keeps me from going out too far! LOL But also why I like West Palm...the water is very clear on a calm day. And hey...I understand the puddles in the road. I am in Oklahoma. The biggest body of water I have seen here is the little pond they dug out for Bass Pro Shop! LOL

Yeah, no room in my house is sacred from my son. LOL I love the ocean. I love everything about it, the peace and tranquility you get, the wonder from not knowing what's under the surface, the feeling of being anonymous when its just you on the beach. I comletely understand. Even when we were in Arkansas we had the huge beaver lake, here...the biggest body of water i get to see are the puddles on the road when it rains. i miss it.

Or the spraying fountains they put in apartment complexes. LOL Never thought i would ENVY that. My wife is the same way. she has issues with what's under the water and what might bite her while she's in it. But she enjoys the spray and the ocean also, so i think when we win the lottery and kick our son out for college we'll end up moving to Oregon. Maybe not right on the ocean, *sighs* because of, you know, tsunami's. LOL my wife is paranoid about the strangest things.

You sound like a person I can relate to. There is nothing more serene than looking out and seeing "the end of the world" while listening to the waves crash upon the shore. Brings back memories :)
