Screwed by HR

I always thought that Human Resources dealt with welfare of their people and not to make things more difficult than they already are. Seems like it's not what my HR is practicing. They seem to enjoy seeing others suffer. Please share your harrowing or good HR experience.

When I worked for Walmart years ago...I couldn't believe how uncaring they were about family emergencies. I was a working single parent going to school. Life was rough enough as it was and they just said see ya..that company does not practice what they preach!
