Today was had the scariest moment in my life. I had to take my 18 month old daughter for an MRI. As part of the procedure she had to be anesthetized. No needles were involved, it was by putting a mask over her nose and she inhaling the anesthetic gas. After about 15 secs of the mask on her nose my daughter started to feel uneasy and move. So the nurses held her tight with the mask over her nose. She then started crying and her eyes were full of tears. I was feeling sorry but knew it had to be done. In the next 30 seconds the anesthetic took rapid effect and she just dropped in my hands with tears still in her eyes. i was not expecting the effect to be so quick. and was really scared and felt absolutely cold as I held my daughter almost lifeless in my arms. The nurse then asked me to put her on the bed and took me to the waiting room. In about an hour she had regained consciousness and everything was just fine. The experience of having to hold your own child almost lifeless was the most scariest moment in my life.

I'm sorry you had to go through this. I went through this with my 5 month old grandson but they would not let us hold him. We had to wait in the waiting room for the whole thing. I was so scared. I can't imagine what it would be like to have held him. That had to have been terrible. I hope your daughter is ok.
