Are people becoming dumber or is evolution fading? Bad Customer Service

Not sure if it's just me. But....Is anyone else tired of getting a blank stair when asking a question to a service representative (retail/restaurant/service)? Or is anyone else tired of getting a response from a service associate (retail/restaurant/service)that has nothing to do with a question that was asked? I am just so sick of the bad customer service that I've received lately that I find that it's so much less painful to shop online or to solve the question on my own. Usually my assumptions are better than an employees experience in regards to inquiries. I don't think I'm an intolerant person and I know for a fact I'm very patient. I have a 2 year old!! So tell me...What's become of our society?
