Who is india's the best prime minister ever & why?

It was Nehru. A great man. And the greatest Indian not to be prime minister is of course Mahatma Gandhi. When you look at the violence in the world, it was a unique thing to lead millions of people in non-violent protest, with the discipline not to respond to provocation and attacks (can you imagine either the Israelis or Palestinians having the discipline not to retaliate?) I think it's a great pity that the spirit of the Mahatma has faded in India, and Indians have become more selfish and materialistic (eg not paying their taxes). Perhaps in time, the idea of integrity and doing the right thing, will come back in the future - if you do the right thing for the community, you help the individual. As a Brit, I still prefer India to China, and hope you win the race to become the next superpower!

in my opinion it has to be Pandit Neru, the founder of the modern Indian nation . I think Neru helped health a broken continent after the end of british rule and partition, only a very special man could have handled it as well as he did
