HI gingerjo, what i know is, there is no cure for baldness that comes with age!!! But if the hair loss is due to some disease like typhoid (Serious infection marked by intestinal inflammation and ulceration; caused by Salmonella typhosa ingested with food or water), or chemotherapy; the hair comes back slowly, now i am running 67 now more than 50% hair is gone.. Thanks for sharing Best of luck. Professor

I was just diagnosed with alopecia areata today, when my doctor showed me pictures of patients with alopecia universalis and totalis, I became very grateful that it's just the small patch missing. It still worries me and bugs me. My hair has always been my crowning glory and I feel cheated that it had to be the one thing malfunctioning on me.

I have AT, had it since I was 9, about 7 years now, how do I deal with it? close friend, family, girlfriend etc. When you find your grounds and accept it, when you get good friends and they accept it for who you are you forget about it. I used to be very worried about it but now just dont care. Sometimes yeah I wish I didnt have it but when I talk to people they say they wouldnt change it because its who I am, thinking of that is how I cope tbh. Anyone that does not know about it this is a good website. http://www.alopeciaonline.org.uk/about/index.asp

I gave alopecia totalis.....almosy no hair.....tried all the usual things. steroids, creams, drew the line at ultra violet light treatment. By that point i didnt care and besides...the 80's are over.....i used to have very long hair when i first got this. My girlfriend likes the smooth skin thing and lots of women find bald irresistable...its not just a cliche...they really do. The only thing i miis are eyebrows (for apearence) and eyelashes...never realized how much you neeaded those till they were gone.
