I honestly have made no progress with this series, though I might try again this summer as I have lots of free time. My favourites of his are the Belgariad/Mallorean etc, though I also really enjoyed the Elenium and The Redemption of Althalus. But honestly I just couldn't get into this series at all, I think the characters are so much less lovable!

I tried to read the first book of this series "The Elder Gods" thought it was a prequel to the Elenium of something.Turns out I was wrong, and this book bored the hell out of me.It's been years since I touched this book but I do know I "NEVER" want to touch it ever again. What happened? The previous series were good, how come this one turned out so bad? Does it improve beyond the first book?Because the first one really put me off reading the rest of the series.

It's nowhere near as good as his other series. I'm an Eddings fan, and I always buy his series. But after this one, I think I'll check it out of the library first. It started out as good as his others. But the ending was a total waste. I'd advise you to read it first, then buy it if you want. I always reread his series, that's why I bought them. But this one, I'm not touching again.
