You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to correct the mistake?

I would keep the baby I have now. But I would keep intouch with the other baby. I would want to see him as often that I could. But most of the time the only way you find out that there was a mix up, is if something happens to one of the baby, sick ,needs blood,or worse.

Thats probably what I would do too. I guess a lot would also depend on the other family.

This is a hypothetical which I don't think we can really answer unless we are faced with the situation, but my basic instinct is that I would keep the child I have. If I have nurtured that child for a yeaqr, that child is mine, regardless of any other factor. I have loved that child and would give anything for him/her. There is no way I could give him up. Part of me would also yearn for the child I gave birth to, but I could not deprive the one who has mothered that child. If possible, I would want the two families to be closely connected and for each to be honorary aunts and uncles for the children. The only problem I see is if one child was physically or mentally incapacitated and the other parent wanted an exchange. This could be a real problem.
