What do you guys do to motivate yourselves to do house work? Do you have a schedule? Do you do certain things before others? How do you keep up!!??!! I myself have a list that I do. I keep the list general but keep certain things on certain days. I also started a Buddy IM system where friends of mine across the country are all in a chat room on IM daily. We chat, browse, and say hey girls I'm going to go vacuum the living room back in a few. The other girls usually list what they are going to do real quick and do it then come back to the computer to chat about what we've done or need to get done etc. I also ALWAYS keep music instead of the TV so I can sing and dance through the house while getting things done. What do you guys do?

I find taking small steps help's one to motive themselves a long way! . . Looking at a huge pile of laundry, or even a huge pile of clothing can be over-whelming for one.. I usually will tell myself how long I will be cleaning for the day.. Or I will decide a day in advance just so I know what I will be cleaning the next day.. I've also even set a timer for myself to start cleaning. I find by doing all of these things that it has helped me to acquire a habit. After a while the house begins to look even more cleaner each & every day. I've also even turned on my favorite radio station & that has helped me to want to clean.. Or I even will put in a mixed CD that I enjoy listening to.. I find it helps me to want to keep on cleaning.. Especially when your favorite song may come on it makes you even want to dance around while cleaning.. haha.. I've caught myself actually dancing with the vacuum cleaner & not realizing it until I looked in the mirror & had seen myself.. I was thankful that no one else was home because I am sure I looked really silly during those times.. But cleaning should be fun.. It shouldn't be something that you dread doing every day.. I know that after I had cleaned the house.. Or even made mine & my other half's bed, or cleaned our entire room.. That I feel so much better about myself.. It's a rewarding feeling knowing that our place is clean.. It makes me feel like I've accomplished something at the end of the day.. And it's nice to look back & be happy of what you had done on that particular day.. I actually quite enjoy cleaning quite honestly! . . But like anyone.. I get tired & have my lazy days.. I find that to be normal.. The only time I find it to get out of hand is when you become to lazy & let things go.. Then that may lead to a problem! . .

I am horrible about housework. I have tried a lot of different things but I always end up sitting back at the computer. Sometimes I set an alarm and make myself clean for 30 minutes then I can get on the computer for 30 minutes. It works for me.

It takes a lot to get me motivated. Usually I wait till he has absolutely had enough then I try to do some things. I would like to see him take care of two children, a disabled mother, and go to school. He would lose his mind real quick. He does do the laundry but he won't fold it so that drives me crazy would rather he not do it.
