Parking costs rising sky high

I never thought a time would come in my life when i would actually be cribbing about parking costs. But when you live in a big city where parking is anyways at a premium, it is a but natural that gas costs start looking cheaper and parking costs start looming large. Higher parking charges are actually making me think of cheaper options of travel like using local transport like buses. What do you think is a better option - pay higher parking charges as a price for luxury or use local transport?
