Recommend some rock?

I am always looking to expand my taste in music. Right now I mostly listen to underground rap, soul, some jazz. one of the few rock bands I listen to and actually like is Soundgarden. Can anyone suggest any similar bands?

Soundgarden rocks! Got to love grunge
You probably would be knowing the greatest grunge band of all Nirvana...Rest in Peace Kurt Cobain
You might also like Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains
Another of my favorite bands from that time was this band called Candlebox who didnt get too famous but they sound great.
You could also try Chris Cornell's (the vocalist of Soundgarden) other band called Audioslave
