Is anybody you know, or yourself affected by diabetes (type 1 or type 2) or juvenile diabetes? How does it affect their everyday lives?

My step-mother has type 2 diabetes and if she misses meals her blood sugar goes low and passes out. But, she's taking care of herself now and eating when she suppose to.

My husband has type 1. He was diagnosed when he was 11 years old. A little while after we got married, he got the insuln pump, which is great. It means that he can eat what he wants with out worring about what it will do to his blood sugar, because you just tell the pump how many carbs he is eating and the pump does the rest. Before the pump, he was always high or low. We had to go to the hospital several times because of his blood sugar. It was bad.
