I recently wrote a research paper regarding this topic and want to know how other people feeling about plastic surgeries. I'm not talking about reconstructive surgeries, but cosmetic. 1.) In 2005, more than 3,000 females under the regulated age received a breast augmentation. Do you feel its excessive when teenagers opt for a plastic surgery before reaching physical maturity? 2.) While flipping through television channels at night, I am amazed at the number of programs dedicated to the cosmetic industry and a growing trend of “surgical makeovers.” The majority of these programs are reality shows like Dr. 90210, Nip/Tuck, Extreme Makeover, and The Swan, do you feel like the media glamorizes the industry to make it more appealing? Do you feel celebrities have an impact? This discussion does deal with more "mature" content, but please note, I am not trying to ofend anyone. Plastic Surgery has become a topic regularly mentioned in the news, I'm curious to see how other people feel about this topic.

I do NOT agree with girls having plastic surgery before their bodies are mature. They should wait for their bodies to form who they will be. And besides that, they need to learn to be happy and know what they truly want. Some ages are just to young to know the effects of these surgeries. Even though I am sure they are told some of the effects, if they are not mature in body, I do not think they would be mature enough in mind either to make these decisions. On the flip side...if a Woman...and I stress woman because she is mature....lacks the self confidence and this is what would make a difference. Then yes, she should consider having the surgery. But she also must weight all the risks. I blame the media for so many surgeries. We have models and actresses that are a thin as rails and do not depict the real average woman. So to ensure our appeal when we have gotten older, have not been blessed with endowment, or just gained some weight...surgery seems to be the quick and easy fix. Sad...but true. And on that note, I too would have surgery if I could afford it. But I would not have foreign objects put into me...just some of what I have taken away. ha ha Pregnancies are horrible to many women!

I do not agree with plastic surgeries. I think you should not play with your body that god has gifted you.
