One reason

India was so rich and fertile and had abundant spices
The british came with that sole reason but later they found the people too naive, and thought that they could prolly rule them
So thats the reason for them plundering india's wealth

generally because they could. They were strong, India was weak. The British were able to rape India by using 400 administratirs to hold down a country of that size. It led to Britains wealth if not India would be rich and i would be living a poor mans life
