Michelangelo, Campidoglio, and the Capitoline Hill symbolism

Does anybody know where I can find information on the symbolism of Michelangelo's architecture and it's symbolism? I have a midterm on the symbolism of the Capitoline Hill, and after looking at my notes, I think i'm going to need more information. We don't have a textbook, and I haven't really found any information about symbolism with goog so far.
