What do you expect from a movie?

What do you really expect from the film directors?? How a film..a movie should be??
Nowadays, filmmaking has become an ugly business, most people make films to make money (specially in India). Even if some like minded people still work hard to make good films but they are less famous (even though they have been honoured with international awards), their films are less shown in the cinema halls, and they don't get paid much too. Why?? What do you think is the main cause??

I expect a movie to make me think in a way life has not made me to think yet. If it does not do that then I expect it to atleast give me a sort of thrill for 2-3 hrs that it lasts, like I have never experienced before. it if cannot even do that, then at the very least I expect it to be devoid of senseless pronography and be suitable for the entire family. :)
