My dad always had ferretsbut they were for rabbiting, they were very vicious and always having babies. I have seen people taking them for a walk on a lead, they look so cute.

If they aren't socialized, they may be feral and not good pets. Just like cats or dogs, they have to have human contact. They were probably always having babies because a female must mate or she won't go out of heat. She'll eventually get aplastic anemia and die! :( Which is why pet ferrets should be fixed. :)

that very interesting, my dad had working ferrets, he used them to catch rabbits...

Yes, I guess working ferrets aren't unusual in other parts of the world from mine. Here in the US ferreting is banned. I'm not sure why. But I prefer the ferrets are pets anyway -- the rabbits too! LOL!

Yes, I imagine I will change my avatar from time to time... Maybe... I'm quite fond of this one too, though! Took this photo myself while diving.
