That's a term coined by researchers for the McAfee security software firm describing a form of phishing in which the bad guys send an SMS (short message service)message to your cell phone. The 1st such messages came from dating web sites. Victims would receive a message announcing that the site intended to charge them $2 a day unless they visited the URL in the message and followed the steps outlined there to unsubscribe from the service. Upon browsing the URL via computer victims would get hit with drive-by downloads that installed Trojan horse software that subsequently would steal passwords and do other nasty things to the victims PC. Anybody heard of this or had experience with this?

I've never heard of that either, but I'd be skeptical since there are so many cons out there these days, I usually don't even bother reading stuff when I don't know who it's from.

It's pretty sneaky! What a way to con fees out of a person!

This is the first I have heard of this. Thanks for the warning. What a scam just to rob us of our money.
