Do you find having a private number, if you have one, is beneficial to stopping prank calls and endless streams of badgering telemarketers? Does it annoy you when someone calls you on a private number and you can't see who is calling?

It seems to not matter anymore. You still get calls you don't want.

Exactly. Does it bother you when people call you from a silent number and you don't know who is calling you? Or you miss their call and don't know who rang?

Having a private number is a blessing. We can't get prank called or telemarketers calling during dinner. The only people who can call us, are the ones who have the number. I don't mind getting calls from private numbers Caller ID says restricted so I know it's a private home number. So I answer.

Having a silent number doesn't stop all unwanted calls, personally I don't like them as I have caller ID and it is a paing not knowing who is calling and as I also don't like last number call, sometimes I get home and find 5 or 6 calls on my phone not listed I start to worry something is wrong but I can't go calling every unlisted number in my book....

I'm not familiar with those, but I think it'd be a good idea to have one like that.
