Which is best--a few longterm friendships or many short term ones?

I don't have lots of friends, but the ones I have have been in my life for years. What works best for you--having a lot of different friends to spend time with (perhaps more exciting) or just a few who are loyal and true?

i don't have too many friends. it just creates confusion on me. plus i want to manage my time with my friends and family... so, i'd rather keep my list of friends short... i keep friends close to me.. those who are worth of my attention. i keep those who are true and loyal and trustworthy.

friendship - a true friend is one that will lift you up when you're wings have trouble on remembering how to fly
i would prefer a few long-term friendships because on them, you can really have a true and honest friends that you can lean on in times of troubles and problems. a true friend is one that will be there for you through thick and thin, in good times and in bad times and one that will stand through the test of time^^
