indo2nepal_paras, an anti-VIRUS is a program that seeks malicious programs on your computer such as worms, trojans, spywares, time bombs, etc. Computer VIRUS is actually an acronym. It stands for Vital Information Resource Under Siege. Computer VIRUSes are created by programmers to prove that they are good at their games. Different types of viruses works differently, however all are united in their cause to destroy computer information or files and causes your computer to run slow.

What is Anti-Virus Software? Anti-virus software is a program that runs on your system that looks for viruses, worms, and Trojan horses. It can prevent them from getting onto your computer, and it can also remove them if they are already there. Anti-virus programs use lists of known viruses to find them on your system. Since new viruses are found daily, it is very important that the anti-virus software has its virus list updated frequently so it can detect the latest viruses. Most anti-virus programs require you to subscribe to receive their up-to-date virus lists. If you have an anti-virus program installed but it is not up-to-date, your system is vulnerable to all new viruses that are in the wild.

Software that monitors a computer for Viruses by looking for irregularities in a computer system and then comparing its findings to a database of virus information. It is important to update virus definitions or signatures regularly and upgrade the software periodically to protect against newly created viruses.

Anti-virus is the name given to software that detects and (where possible) removes viruses from messages. By removing viruses at the email server, all internal mail clients are protected AND all customers are protected from receiving viruses too. Computer Viruses are written by people who wish to gain control of your system resources and are continually updated to try and break through any barriers you may have installed. GMS Anti-Virus overcomes this issue by providing a "signature file" update service which ensures that all new varients are caught as soon as possible.
