Morality...is it a thing of the past?

Do you think that somewhere along the line, morality has been lost in society? Do you think people make thier decisions based upon more self centred factors and are unconcerned with the moral implications of their actions? What happened to the ancient Greek vision of the hero/ and Aristotle's "good life" where the hero was someone of moral standing?

Unfortunately, morality is becoming a thing of the past. People will say, what is right for you may not be right for me. It's all about tolerance. Tolerance means I understand that you may believe something but it doesn't mean you are correct. You may believe the world is flat and I can be tolerant of that believe but it doesn't mean you are correct. Society is telling us we have to believe everything and it is up for interpretation. Is murder up for interpretation-NO-then we still need to know our morals. It is really sad that our morality is going to pot. That truth shows up in people's marriage relationships when they cheat and refuse to keep their vows. You can trust a person's word any more.

megs i am also always worried about that. actually in todays material world people are very much busy in satisfying their self interests, bcz the life has become so fast that they do not find time more then they need for themself. thats the reason people dont want to think about others. but this self centered behaviour is very harmfull for us, bcz researches have shown that if you daily meet your friends and other people you like, you are more safe against dippression. this self centered behaviour is the main cause behind several psycological problems. and it is also responsible for declining moral values in socity. but it is not too late. we can hope that sooner or later we will understand this.

People do make their decisions based on their own desires. No one thinks of anyone else anymore. If they do then they are a rare breed. No one seems concerned with the consequences or anything that follows their actions. Aristole's good life seems like it's something of the past now.

Things change with time. You can't expect people to have the same concept forever.
