Has anyone ever had a tattoo removed? My brother in law has one on his arm which at the time he thought was a good idea but he now feels (15 years later)that it sends out the wrong image and is thinking of having it removed. It is roughly four inches high and two and a half inches wide and quite dark (blues and reds mostly). Is it expensive to have it removed? More importantly is it painful or are you under anesthetic? Also does it leave a scar.

I have'nt had a tattoo removed but I think certain colors like green and red do take longer to remove. I believe you have have several sessions to get the tattoo removed

hi there, I have never had a tattoo removed but have had laser hair removal which is the same thing as for tattoos. No anaesthetic necessary although it does hurt a bit. Sting would be a more appropriate word!? When I got the hair removal it cost me...100 euro per session I seem to remember? Lots of places do it, but it is really REALLY important to get qualified personnel as laser can burn. Also, I believe there are some places that draw the length of time out for treatment so it costs more! It took 6 times for me to get my hair removed in that particular area, there is still a tiny bit but I believe this is to be expected. Once a tattoo is gone its gone and won't come back. If you like, pm me (think the facility exists) and I will give you the name of the place I went in Dublin.

I hear it's really painful, expensive, and takes numerous sittings.
