Have you lost your travel baggage in the airport?

I lost my baggage (2 suitcases) on a flight from New York to Lisbon many years ago long before the present crisis and baggage inspection. I gave the TAP authorities a description of my luggage and they said they would contact me. I though, yeah I've heard that before. Two days later I got a call from TAP saying that they had my bags and would it be convenient to have them delivered the following morning. And they did! I was amazed when I saw the luggage in tact and nothing missing.....they weren't locked. I don't think that airport security being tight has anything whatsoever to do with lost luggage....it is the fault of the baggage handlers and the airlines.
