Do fall in the height to weight ratio. Is your body weight right for your height? I am 5 feet 8 inches weigh 166 pounds so my body ratio is off, I should be about 145 to 150, to be considered right...of course I put on a couple pounds, I used to be about 140 to 145 which was ideal...

Is there really an ideal body weight to height ratio? I know my sister is tall and thin, yet she weighs more than most people, since she's athletic. I'm average height and thin, and weight must less than she does.... I think so long as you are healthy and happy, then you are at the ideal weight for you.

Well, in that chart I'm small frame and she's a large frame, though we basically have the same frame, though she is taller than me.

I have always been over the appropriate ration, even when I had a gorgeous shape, many years ago. Heavy bones, plus muscle. I tend to marry men who have a hard time keeping their weight up. Even if they eat much more than I do. Looking at the weights for large framed women of my height I am definitely 40-45 lbs overweight. The thing is that a lot of it does not show. I believe it is wrapped around my inner organs, and is just waiting to explode. I am working on it, slowly, and I lost 16-20 labs. last summer. Based on some of the charts by Covert Bailey in his Fat or Fit series though, I could weigh about 20 lbs more, and still be quite healthy. (180-185 rather than 155-163)

I do not have any excess fat .... am tall at 6'2" and always pass my medical exams every year .... but at the same time I do not fit into the category that is claimed to be ideal height to weight ratio. I am healthy, get plenty of exercise .... even when driving I pull over for the night and go for a run before going back to bed .... both at home and on the road, eat good foods. Think these charts are a crock of excretia more than anything and no wonder people have issues with their image.
