Why is the grass always greener on the other side?

It doesn't matter what the situation is..you can't help but to think that it seems like a better situation for someone else. Why can we not be happy and appreciative of the things we have? Why must we insist on wanting others lives? Please share your thoughts on this!

i don't always see the grass on the other side greener, i must be abnormal, hehe. i just happen to value the small blessings i get and i am thankful of them. maybe it's easier for me to appreciate coz i once hit rock-bottom, and a lil bit of betterment in everything just gives me joy :)

I think it is basic nature of humans to be selfish and are greedy. Or, not happy in their lives, so they desire someone elses joys.

Yes, that always happens with me too! I always think that the grass is always greener on the other side. But that's not always the truth! Sometimes the things are much darker for the other people than us. Maybe we dont realise the "colour" of the grass we hold in our hands is much greener than others!
