Broke and needing groceries...

You're virtually broke, and it's two more days until pay day and you need to stock up on groceries. What would you do? Ask your friends or family for help, put it on your credit card, hold out for payday???? Have you been in this position before, and if so what did you do?

I've been in that position. I bought Ramen. I lived for a month or so off of Ramen and water because I was so broke and struggling just to pay the bills. 20 packs of Ramen for 84 cents, you can't beat it. Not the healthiest, but better than fast food or junk food.

I've done the same with 2 minute noodles and bread! Glad to say I'm not in a position where I need to do that now... and hopefully not in the future... Ahhh, the joys of life as a Uni student!

I would try to hold out. If I couldn't I would hit one of the discount grocery stores, put it on a credit card, go to a food bank, or apply for emergency food stamps.

I'd hold out. The body can go on very little food for days and be fine. Ramen was suggested below and I think pasta and other filling cheap foods are a great filler until you can stock up. I found a pretty good program for food, though. It is not b=needs based, so anyone can take advantage of it. If they have one in your area, I suggest trying it out to stretch your food bill: http://www.angelfoodministries.com/
