i prefer AMD since i am using one.I use AMD because --comparatively cheap --high performance --high stabilty --greater support for gaming i recommned AMD FX 64 bit computing. It has many advantage over intel pentium 4 processors.but i heard that intel pentium duo core2 is much better than other precedures and a like performance with AMD 64.so i f you are going to buy a new computer either you go for AMD FX 64 or Pentium 4 Duo core 2. thank you!

I agree with him, I also prefer using AMD. Great performance and great price, you'll save a lot. A gaming PC does not only need a fast processor, it also needs a good video card. You also need a high amount of memory (RAM), good cooling system and a big hard drive. If you have the budget, maybe you can buy the Geforce 7000+ series of video cards. For the memory around 1 GB or more. For hard drive around 200GB or more. With the processor, You don't really need a dual core right now. Most of them are expensive anyways. Just get something around 3 GHz. The general rule is not to go very high end. Just go in between the low and high end. Computer parts decrease in value very fast and most motherboards get phased out after a year or less.

I have never had an Intel. I always go for AMD. They run a little hotter but youget more bang for your buck. They also have the now dual core processors. (64) You really can use dual processor chip sets effectivly with out a 64 bit operating system. Windows XP 64 is too new and most programs wont run in it. You are best just to wait.
