Why C language(computer programming) is considered the basic for PROGRAMMING?

For any reason a programmer or a normal man nowadays needs to know C language because its just like Mathematics in the real world for any programming. So anywhere and everywhere in this world, C language is taught first of all to begin to know about software or programming!!
