Should parental consent be required for underage pregnant women to have abortion

Let's use some logic: If a child is hurt in an accident, or at school,that child could not be treated with out parents' consent. So why, then should a child be able to get a surgical, life changing, life threatening procedure, without parents' consent? That is how the law has been, but that does not make it right. Parental consent should be required for abortion, and also for birth control. Parents need to know what their kids are doing.
