can someone please help to settle an arguement a friend has told us that a n onion, potatoes,and apples all taste the same if you have no sence of smell thanx emma

That's correct. Plug your nose, cover your eyes, and try them. The sense of smell is required in order to taste. If the texture of 2 foods is the same and you can't smell them, they'll taste the same.

Obviously you have a good sense of smell which means your taste buds are underdeveloped. I was born with no sense of smell and I can tell you that I can taste the difference between all of them. But when it comes to oregano vs straw, there's little if any difference between the two.
