Are you looking forward to the "1408" movie based off of the Stephen King short story? How well do you think it will do? Do you believe it will suffer the same kind of "curse" that most Stephen King movies seem to have?

What's the story about? I don't know about a curse, I haven't see that many Stephen King movies. I thought The Shining was great and so was Carrie, and I enjoyed Pet Sematary [or however he spelled it], Stand By Me and some others did well at the box office too. I guess there were also some duds though? I didn't see those.

If you're looking for Stephen King movies that stay close to the original story - or as close as a movie possibly can - I recommend The Stand miniseries and the updated version of The Shining with Rebecca Demorne. Those are the two that I always think of when I think of Stephen King movies that stick close to the original story. It really all depends on the budget and how much control King himself has. If you want to see a visual project where King had complete control, check out Kingdom Hospital.

I don't believe in any curse on Stephen King's movies. And much as I love the man and his work, I will not be seeing this movie. That story was the only thing he's written that actually managed to scare me. I don't know what it is about that story, but I was terrified to pick up a telephone for weeks after reading it. It's too bad, too, since I like John Cusack.
