I recently received an email saying that I had won 500k from Yahoo Lottery. I know I never applied for a lottery. I contacted Yahoo and they verified that this is a scam. The email is not from Yahoo. Later, they will tell you the lottery was held in the UK. This is a spoof email. It looks just like it would if it had come from Yahoo. Is anybody aware of any other scams that are currently taking place? Do you have any tips on protecting yourself from scams?

i have heard of a lottery scam, but i didn't know it was in yahoo.someone tried to scam me before.they sent me an email and told me they were from england.it was supposed to be an elderly lady.she said she was dying of cancer.she said she seen my name on a christian website.she wanted to donate her life insurance money to me to give to my church or the church of my choice.i was supposed to send her $5.00 that way her lawyer could process the application to the life insurance money.luckily i didn't believe it for a second.
