Suicide and Souls

My husband friend commuted Suicide this week (we are Catholic)
What do you think happens to a Persons Soul when they commite Suicide?
I believe God forgives them because they are not in there right mind and are sick
This was a comfort to my Husband
Any thoughts?

I believe they go onto another life and have to re-live a new experience.
