I am collecting all my equipment for candlemaking and am looking around at sites and groups that focus on handmade toiletries...so I am a pre-novice....lol. What suggestions do you have when it comes to beginner soap making?

I attempted soapmaking once and was EXTREMELY unsuccessful with it...I made such a horrible mess in my kitchen and the soaps just didnt turn out...I never tried again but I did have some good sites (assuming they are still around) that i could list provided I can find the addys on my overly messy desk if you like...

All I can really tell is don't do it when the kids are around. I was just following the instructions on the box and they ended up everywhere after the 2 year old got ahold of it.

Hi, It is not soap in response to the original question but I recently came across this successful candle making website called strangely enough, successful candle making. You can find many things here about candle making and they even offer a free 10 day email mini course to any one who wants to enter their name and email address. You have got nothing to lose really. http://www.successful-candle-making.com Usually they send details every tow or so days so that you don't get overwhelmed with emails and have time to read them, this is why they are staggered.
