you can see your points in the number after your username.
1 response = 1 point. creating discussions and get response = 1 point.
points is not coverted into your earnings, earnings will back deppend on your quality more quality more earnings.

Points are given out when you post on a discussion for the first time or with the first response to any of the discussions you start. As far as payouts, those are calculated based on referrals and how active discussions you start are.
