Help!!!! building a website

ok i know that most people build websites to sell their products or to promote other things. so what would be your suggestion to someone who has no money or products to sell and that person wants to build a website? what would that website be based on?
my friend got this problem and he need help! please provide some help to me so that i could help him.

hey i know we could work together on this. i don't know much about building a website but if he wants to build it then i got products he can use to promote. here's how and what i do. i sell new laptops and new tanning products. i get the products at below retail and sell them for retail to make money. the products i sell are very diverse for girls and for guys. both genders would benefit and visit the site. i have many friends and i'm sure your friend has friends too. me and you are both on mylot and could post discussions on this website once it is built. that will provide lots of action to the site. i'd send him the pictures, prices, and discriptions of the products he could post them on the site, create a page to order from, i could check that page send the orders in and give him a cut from what i gross. what do you think? would he go for that? let me know. also what is his website based on??

Why not start with a blog or a geocities site? Free to set up and you can practice uploading anything that takes your fancy until you know what direction you want the site to take. Geocities is extremely simple to use and will take about an hour to have a fully functional free website up and running for example
