Are kids more clever today

No I don't believe that are more clever I feel that they only think they are but really not, Kids now can't even tell a good lie to their parents what a joke

I don't think they are more clever - they are just more "savvy". I think it has a lot to do with the advent of internet and television. Before these things kids only had access to knowledge from teachers or parents. Now kids have access to all kinds of information ~ sometimes good /sometimes bad.

I think that true.
