have you done something generous lately?

I did something last night that I thought was no big deal but someone else thought it was very generous. One of my daycare parents was late to pick up her two children. I was in the process of getting supper ready for my children and had planned on just feeding her children as well. She called me to tell me she was just getting out of work (she ahd been there for 12 hours) and was on her way so I filled a plastic container with enough goulash for the entire family, added a package of dinner rolls and handed it to her when she walked in. I explained we had plenty of extra food and this way she would not have to go home and find something to cook. She was so thankful she almost cried. She wanted to know how to repay me and I told her to do something nice for someone else. Like I said, it was no big deal to me but it really made her day.

I admittedly haven’t, not what I’d consider generous. I go around to my Nans every Wednesday and help out where I can, since she left hospital last year she’s not as strong on her legs although it’s increasing and has been living downstairs, she often needs things from upstairs, though being still an independent woman I ‘help’ her up the upstairs rather than just fetching it for her.
