why does my e-gold account go down?

every second day my e-gold account goes down with 2 or 3 cents! i don`t get it it is because of the gold rate or what?pls tell me

its due to the gold rate going up and down, it doesnt matter much if you have upto 100-200$ but it really matters when you have got some large amounts like 5000-6000$ in your e-gold account
