I'm giving all negative ratings!!

This is the right move I think.This will motivate serious and usefull discussions in myLot and will benefit the serious members.Also the quality of discussions will increase.

mfrancq.... you're so mean! :) But I would like to place one rule in there, that is, if they are your "friend", you may not give them a negative rating. I think that is fair. Also, you should give all your "friends" a positive rating because as the saying goes "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours". Actually I'd like to change that saying to "You tickle my armpits, I'll tickle yours". How's that?

Good for you! If we all do that from now on, Mylot should stay a decent place and not go downhill like some other Q & A sites I could mention. I know exactly what you mean, I've posted sereral questions on her and either got a yes/no/don't know response or something completely irrelivent. I once got a response simply saying, 'please give me a plus', obviously they didn't get one!

I am glad to see this topic, because this is what I started doing last week. I was getting a lot of responses that did not pertain to the discussion. I usually have at least a sentence, but it is not anything to do with the topic. I know a lot of people do not speak English real well here and I try to overlook that, but now I am thinking people are just saying anything to try to earn money!

I would do it, too. People are just posting pointless replies to make a couple of cents. I hope that realize that no matter how hard they try to "beat the system," they aren't going to make a living off of this website!

but in order to filtrate the madness I think mylot should interject and weed out those topics and/or comments that are 100% useless.. that way we can navigate the forums better and have more stimulating conversations

I completly understand where you are comming from. I understand that sometimes people just do not know what to say. However if you have no ideas just do not post and find something else to post on. I espicaly hate when someone says something stupid like "that is not something I can help you with" well then why did you write anything. If you do not have something intresting to contribute then hush!

Thats good you do that, friend and i agree with you so that people more having thought before they posting their response to another topic. Its kind of lesson for them who just only get after point and point, right?:) Coz its really irritating if we posting topic which we need solution from that topic, but person its just stop by and giving comment, "no, that's not me, sorry"

I think your doing the right thing, because some people just dont read the topic andjust in the sake of replying write any 2-3 words, but it wont help them as mylot gives more money if we write some relevant stuff . I will also give negative ratings to the people who write only 2-3 words. Thanks for this suggestion

That sounds fair enough to me! I'm often tempted to do it but can't be bothered as much as they can't be bothered writing a good response. I had a response today in my discussion about my twelve year old having a leavers dinner that said..u must think about having children Don't make us suffer. I couldn't even understand what he was going on about! I always ask people to clarify answers if I don't understand them but funnily enough, no one that has written an odd response has come back to clear things up. They obviously just randomly answer discussions and don't bother to check if someone has commented back on their responses. Rude yes...deserving of a negative yes... I have just convinced myself to do the same thing you do. hahaha

I almost never open discusion., But I'll give rate on my older sister topic. She made discusion and if any body send msg with 1 or two word, I;ll send NEGATIVE rate. But I never give negative rating in other member discusion. I only give positif rate.

Sorry,yaar.. But this isn't fair U r going to earn nothing by giving negative responses.......The reason for mylot is for others to give opinions, advice, or help in a situation..

Yes, you should do it, i agree with you completely. Even i would start doing the same. This helps mylot to decide who are giving better responses and who are giving the dull ones. They just ansewer for the sake of increasing their numbers.

I agree with your point on this one. I have read a lot of posts that I agree with, but I don't feel that I have anything to add other than what is there. I will not agree just for the sake of adding a response or getting a penny. I think that it is a waste of time for the person starting the discussion to go back through and read all the "yes" or "no" comments. If you don't have anything valid to add, please don't. Many of us on here are here for the discussions or for advice and people that are here just to up their pocketbooks should have to spend a little more time writing their responses to get credit. I'm not sure how we can make that work, but there has to be a way. Great post!!!

I am giving you a plus for that because I agree with you. I too have decided to give a minus to the people who just copy and paste 'I like your comment' after every discussion. Somebody could be asking if they like dog poop and they would still answer with 'I like your comment' or 'Yeah'. I haven't been very long on MyLot either, but I am reporting everybody who copies and pastes. People should thank you for what you are doing instead of criticising. MyLot can only get better if others follow your good example. Congratulations on taking a stand.

Wow. You must really be pissed off! It is understandable and members like myself am glad that you are actually doing something to improve the standard of posts on MYLOT.

You're just making a flame topic to get more earnings, by the way, you're right about this. I hope you give positive ratings too!
