Its easy really, and it's a good question. No one in civilised society is truly free, because we all have obligations to others in that society. Wether it be a landlord who wants his rent, or an employer who want you there at 8am. or your local bowling team who need you to be there at 7pm. No you can't really be free unless you can choose to put your bed where you will, rise when you will, gather food and eat when you wish with no need to regard the needs of others. When you are free to play or just meditate with others of similar mind, and they are free to enjoy the same freedoms, then you can sacrifice a few of those freedoms, so that you can share even greater freedoms. That kind of savage life, it seems to me, is what freedom is all about. I really do think we lost it. We lost it to the accumulators, who amassed enough wealth power and influence, to buy the freedom from all the responsibilities and constraints that so called progress brought into our way of life. Only the truly naieve can be free.

Freedom is the feeling of being free, the feeling of not being bound by anything, you have total control, and no fate defines you.

for me freedom means to do whatever I like nobody to dicate to me how to do things, what to do etc, freedom gives you happiness when you do the things you like the most without anyone stopping to you, when you have the freedom you usually try to make the right choices otherwise you will be responsible for your own choices, so freedom is good to help you to make your life better

I think that we are already free... The only thing is that so few try to claim their freedom... The only thing that chains us is ourselves. Ultimately, the only freedom is to chose what we do and think, and we always have that, even if we pretend that we do not.

I think freedom is being able to do what you want when you want. A person who has been to jail, knows that even the simple task of taking a shower is not something you can just do when you want anymore in this situation, and would long for that kind of freedom. I think my freedom is important, and I know we all have rules/laws to follow, but freedom to choose what we like, how we live, where we live, where we work, who we like/love/marry, are all very important, and thats just naming a few! I know in some countries their freedom and choices are limited, and woman have no voice, atleast that is allowed to be publicly heard....being able to do these things are my freedom!

i think freedom gives you the contentment in life, in the sense that it gives you the right to do just what you wanna do.. but of course, along with freedom comes the great responsibility to protect it and not to step onto other people's right..
