Facts and opinion.

I recently got into an argument about this with a friend. He thinks that opinions are facts, since they are all based on personal ideas within one's mind. I think that facts are not opinions since facts are something that has no personal relation with you (example: thinking the world is awesome compared to the world is round) and opinions are simply based on your feelings.

You are correct. Facts can be demonstrably proven. Opinions can not.

A fact is something that is true. Such as, a tomato is red. An opinion is someone's interpretation of the truth. Such as, a tomato is red because it attracts wild animals to it.
