I just came across this discussion from 1 week ago, and I pray that your family has heard from your brother by now. In addition to trying to contact his military base, you can contact the American Red Cross and they will locate him. He may very well have been on a mission where he could not write or e-mail, or it could be due to the large volume of mail at this time of year. I think that if he were missing from his unit that his family would have been notified. My prayers are with him and your family.

It is a difficult situation, but you will probably have to get used to less frequent letters, because from the war zone, which Irak is for the US, post will mostly be allowed less frequently. Ofcourse, if anything happens to him, the US govt. has a responsibility to inform you and I think in that respect the US govt. is quite honourable.

Have you tried contacting his home base in the United States? Best wishes! I would hate to be in your situation and not knowing. If something bad has happened your family would be notified right away, that I do know.

Don't let it get you down, sometimes the soldiers have to go on special missions in which they can't send any contact. If something happened to your brother your family would know as soon as possible, so they would have already known. Keep your head up.
