I know the definitions of both of these. What I want to know is what you think about this: Great singers, Great actors, Great entertainers in general. Were they born with this talent and had no choice but to follow, or could it be a great desire they pocessed deep inside that they persued and just by luck became who they are?

Talent will only get you so far. Those with enough desire that are willing to put in enough work to become good at aything, whether it is singing, acting, or sports will be better then those with talent. Those that have talent and are willing to do everythin git takes to be the best are the one's that will change the world. There are a lot of talented people that are out there that are really good. There are also a lot of hard working people out there that are equally good if not better. But the true superstars of singing, acting, and sports are a rare mix of talent, desire and hard work. Some folks are put into a position to succeed while others work hard an put themselves in a position to succeed. This is why the actors and sports figures that have come from tougher backgrounds always seem to succeed on a much higher level then those born into it. When you are born into it there are certain expectations that peopl ehave of you, so the pressure to succeed can often be difficult to overcome. Just remember, desire and hard work will always overcome talent.

I liked your view on some are put in the position to succeed. Those are the ones who really don't even have to have a talent. There are singers out there that are quite famous that can barely carry a tune in a bucket, but because of promotions, who they know, and who thier parents are, they have succeeded.

I know its the desire that made them great... you can be born with a nice voice but without the desire you cant go anywhere... I have a friend with a great voice but she cant follow a beat, problem is she doesnt like singing so its a talent wasted...

I guess you could say it was her decision not to follow her destiny
