Should ppl who don't celebrate Christmas get the days off?

i say just worry about your self and not about everyone else. I think that people that worry about other people getting those days off are jealous and they shouldn't be. It's a national holiday so it includes everyone. It's like getting pissed cause a unemployed person parties on labor day.

I've thought of this before as well. If no one but Jews get off for their holidays, why does everyone get off for Christmas and Easter? Really tells you about the roots of our culture.

The first poster has a point but I do think a few possiblities should be considered. If someone doesn't celebrate a holiday but their company still requires people to work on that holiday then the people who DO celebrate should have off and the people who don't celebrate should work. Like nursing homes and Walmart and hospitals. Though it would be hard to figure out who does and does not if they do not share that info with you. Also, i think that when there is an important holiday that isn't celebrated by the majority that anyone who DOES celebrate it should be allowed time off. Once again, it would be tough to know who does and who is lying. It is not fair, however for someone who does not celebrate certain holidays to get off when they are also getting off for their own holidays. That is taking too much advantage of their employer. If I knew someone was doing something like that I would offer their holiday off without pay and allow them to take off during the non-celebrated holidays and enjoy the benefits as everyone else does.
