I suffer from IBS with constipation. My solutions are natural, I eat cheese to stop the runs and drink coffee when I can't go at all. Both work for me. Hope you find a solution.

What you are talking about is a form of an IBD (Irritable Bowel Disorder) and contains everything from Spastic Colon, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn's Disease, etc. Diet can enhance the symptoms of people with these disorders but is not generally the cause of it. Everyone has these symptoms at one point in their life which then is most often caused by changes in diet and crappy food, of course. I have some form of IBD, though I'm not sure which one at this point, I'm still undergoing testing. It isn't fun, is it. I have been dealing with it for many years but it's just been getting worse lately. Try to eat well and depending on what you have there can be medication that can help. I started taking Prevacid and my stomach problems disappeared, but the bowel problems remained. I just started taking an antibiotic which is often given to people with Crohn's disease. I will see what this does for me and if it helps, there's a good chance that's what I have. Best of luck!

I don't agree that it's always a symptom of diet. I suffer and try to follow a good low GI diet. When following a carbohydrate controoled (menaing more protein) diet I had no problems with irritable bowel, but now that I have late onset diabetes I have to watch the fat content and I have to make sure I eat complex carbohydrates which the high protein diet I did doesn't allow for, though I do a variation. Also my 16 yr old younger twin also has irritable bowel and he's not just thin he's skinny! He eats well too but sometimes 9and withhim there are no trigger foods0 he just has to run!

I think what number one answer here said is true, you diet is the key. If you are eating wrong without enough fiber and also if you need to loose weight. I lost 35lbs 3 years ago and my indigestion and irritable bowels symptons went away. I have gained most of that weight back and along came the symptons.
