use ORTHO home defense, you can get it at wal-mart for about $6.99, I use it all around my house and I can tell you it works great. first wash out your feeder and then srpay all around the ground and up the pole to the bottom of your feeder without getting it in the feed. They sell it at lowes to but it costs about $10.99 this should get rid of any and all ants ,plus aother pests too!

Find some good spray from the store that is made for killing ants ..I think raid has one and spray each day for a week just some dont over do it and only around the bottom of the pole..another thing after that week put fresh dirt around the pool do not use sand ants love to make homes in sand...

I have no idea! We have a lot of ants here also, coming into the house. One crumb on the floor guarantees about a thousand ants marching in to investigate!! We did buy a spray guaranteed to keep your house "ant free for a year" (it worked for about a day!!!) Boiling water works but isn´t the kindest way.
