Early Retirement?

It's been a long tiring life of almost 30 years of working to make others rich. I feel the time has come for me to realign my life - EARLY RETIREMENT! For the past one year, I search and scout the cyberspace, newspapers, magazines for business opportunities so that I can be my own boss. In this way, I can then be free to be considered as retired. The question is : why wait until I am 55 years old to be retired? Why not earlier. I am 47 now. I planned to retire by 50. To me, this is early retirement. Friends, do discuss this subject with me so that everyone, not just me, will benefit.
