I personally LOVE American Pit Bull Terriers. They are awesome dogs. That's the breed I would suggest. :) Good luck choosing. There are so many great breeds.

You need a large dog. A doberman will guard. But, do not tie it up. That would be mean.

I cannot add much about dogs, although I am keeping my sister's dalmation, and she has become quite a guard of my yard. I just want to know if a "pushme" is the same as a llama--an animal that is growing in popularity as a guard animal in my part of the United States. They hate coyotes, foxes, wolves and other dog like creatures, although I am sure they can be trained to like your own personal dog.

wow,a big farm! Fascinating! I have a dream to have my own big farm with many animals in it. I really love dogs! But I only have them as pets. I don't know what kind of dog is suitable for defending your farm. Maybe some kinds of shepherd dog or demi-wolf are okay. I think these kinds of dog have powerful strength and can run at high speed. Sorry for being unable to give you wise advice. But I really think that Having your own farm is so great! I wish I would have mine in the future!
